Down the TBR Hole is a bookish tag created by Lost in a Story It is made to help us shorten our ever growing TBR piles!
Here’s how it works:
- Go to your goodreads to-read shelf.
- Order on ascending date added.
- Take the first 5 (or 10 or 15 or 20, if you’re feeling adventurous) books
- Read the synopses of the books
- Decide: keep it or should it go?
- Keep track of where you left off so you can pick up there next week!
Currently on my TBR: 1287 books

I knew for a fact when I saw The Overlord Protocol on my list that I wouldn’t be reading on in the H.I.V.E series as I don’t think I really got on with the first book because it was just too light and childish 😛 Plus there is also the fact that I do not tend to like spy thrillers and such as those genres have never really appealed to me *shrug* Boonie sounds plain ridiculous and I don’t know why I added it in the first place only that I must have seen it in my library’s catalogue or I must have been pretty darn desperate for any type of dystopia. Home by Nicola Davies was a book I really wanted to read and I kind of still do now as I can see this author is a scientist who really cares about the environment so a dystopian by her might have been really hard-hitting and good to read. Unfortunately it seems this book is no longer available to buy online and it doesn’t have a proper description or a high general rating on Goodreads… moving on. Divergent Thinking and Dragon Shield I have simply zero desire to read these days, though Brandon Mull’s book does sound kind of interesting despite it being targeted at a younger audience though my library doesn’t have many of his books and I’m not that desperate to read it that I’d check its availability. Plenty, plenty more interesting books out there!
To be kept
Lots of books to look forward to here! Water Born is a book I should have read a long time ago as details of the first book are a little sketchy for me now, so perhaps I’ll reread though I have seen this book can be read as a standalone. Gah why have I not read from Garth Nix yet?! I’m very pleased to see my library has this book still in stock too and I know, I basically need to read all his books and I totally promise I will when my TBR has calmed down. I meant to read Half a King a few years ago when I got the book out from my college library then a year later I got it out again in hopes of getting into what others have called a grimdark story and world. Both times I got this out my other TBR just got in the way and I had to prioritise other books which seems to be quite a common occurrence with me and my TBR 😛 I have not forgotten you! Parallel is a book I’m only keeping because my college library has it in stock and while it does have a kind of interesting plot to it, I must say I’m mostly wanting to read this author’s Free to Fall which you don’t want to know how long I’ve been saying to myself to request it at my library but got sidetracked 😛 This still does sound like it has a lot of potential, I’ll just have to actually get around to reading it! 😉
