Book Blogger Hop: September 27th – October 3rd

Book Blogger Hop is hosted at Coffee Addicted Writer

The purpose of the Hop is to learn about new books, make friends with other bloggers, follow other blogs discover new books and gain more followers for your own blog. The hop will start on a Friday and end on a Thursday and will feature a weekly prompt asking a bookish question.

This week’s question:

Have you ever wished that there were official government bookish holidays, and that, by law, employers HAD to give their workers a paid day off? If so, what kind of bookish holiday would you like to have?

Oooh what a lovely idea! No though, this has never been on my mind as I just read when I can and for me it is nice to do other things in a day other than just read all the time even if the book is really good and even though this is my number one hobby. If I’m also being honest I have never really heard of the days where books are celebrated and I only discovered world book day a few years ago when Google changed its figurehead to honour it. I still don’t really think of any special days for books now as I generally like routine and having new books bought in from the library is as much book speciality I really get as well as taking specific books on holiday. It would be really nice to have a bookish holiday as I feel too little people where I live read at this current date, so maybe start off small with one day where books everywhere are prioritised and oh it would be so nice to have a paid bookish day off! 😀 But yeah one day would be great just to encourage people once more that there is sheer happiness in storytelling and reading books!  🙂

  1. I think it would be hard to dedicate an entire day to reading (although I do want to someday participate in a read-a-thon), only because I have so many other responsibilities and obligations. I like the idea in theory though! And I definitely think days that celebrate reading and books are a great idea. I hope you have a great weekend!
