My life/books I’ve finished

A week where I wasn’t very busy in terms of support workers or anything, but still an enjoyable week on the whole not to mention it was my birthday on the 19th 😀 That was a day when my support worker came around and the weather was gorgeous so we spent a lot of our time at the beach with her dog and enjoying the fact that there weren’t any screaming kids around 😉 It was a fantastic birthday really and mum still won’t let me use my birthday money on ethnic clothes that I want as they and jodhpurs have become a real passion of mine when it comes to clothes and feeling good. She says I need to save my money for a rainy day…

I haven’t mentioned it yet but on Monday this week I received my DBS clearance meaning I am now eligible to enrol on the librarian course in college. There is still the problem of funding though as the man in charge has been trying really hard to find if they are grants available for me, but if I’m being honest I’m not really bothered as we agreed I’d have to pay for the course in the beginning and now he’s trying to complicate things even if he is trying to help… 😛 I just want to start the course and he has told me I can come in next Tuesday even if we have to delay enrolment, but really, I want to begin so I will send him an email on Monday about different ways I can pay for this course and whether I can pay with my card or does it have to be a cheque and I will say why I am so desperate to enrol this week now. I have had college library books out over the summer and they are coming to the end of their due date and I’m pretty sure I cannot renew them unless I am enrolled as a student which I’m not until I pay for this course. Either way I will bring them with me on Tuesday and hope we can really start this course and I can get everything in regards to paperwork and fees sorted ASAP.

With regards to reading, I still appear to be in a kind of slump because I haven’t finished any books this past week and I’m making very slow progress. Nothing seems to have helped so far and I have other books on the way in but I am just not finishing any at the moment! 😮 Urrggghhh…. My main hopes though are that everything goes according to plan with college and by the end of Tuesday I will be a proper enrolled student on the librarian course as this is something I’ve always wanted for years. 🙂

Books I’ve recently added to my TBR

Navigating the Stars (Sentinels of the Galaxy #1)Dona Flor and Her Two HusbandsFire & Blood (A Targaryen History, #1)

Navigating the Stars by Maria V. Snyder

I think I only added this because I loved this authors Inside Out series which I hope she will write more in. This does sound intriguing though and before I have liked Snyder’s writing style.

Dona Flor and her Two Husbands by Jorge Amado

Currently own a copy of this 😀 Everything about the descriptions of this authors works have made me think of exotic places so this will make a perfect holiday read.

Fire & Blood by George R.R. Martin

Loads of people online have been complaining about Martin writing this new series when the ASOIAF series is incomplete. I’m really hoping he completes that series too but at the same time these books look just as intriguing. I will give this a go when I am out of this ridiculous slump 😛

  1. Glad to read you had a great Birthday and that you got your clearance.
I need to get Navigating the Stars as Snyder is an author I really like too.
I hope you get back in the reading mood. Have a good week.
