Summer is over… 😦 Not that we had much of a summer where I was as it was mostly freezing when it should have been warm, but there have been some nice days too! I found this tag on Zezee with Books and it was created by Faith over at You Are What You Read. Enjoy!
Which book can you not stop thinking about?
For me this was such a well described cultural read that it kind of stayed with me after finishing and not only because I read it in Japan too. It is not without its flaws but I found the plot and culture very entertaining to read about because a lot know that I just cannot get enough of cultural reads 😉
Which book would you rather have not read?
I don’t think there are any books I have read this year that were terribly bad that I wish I hadn’t read 😛 However, this one is a book I took to Japan with me with high expectations though I saw early on that things weren’t going well. I persevered with it over the halfway mark once I got home but had to understand that me and this book weren’t getting on, so with this one I do wish a bit that I’d had paid more attention to what the other reviewers said however normally I like to go into books without many hints to the plot 😛 Tough one…
What genre did you read the most?
Fantasy, fantasy and more fantasy! How can I ever get bored of such a fabulous genre?
Which book surprised you the most?
The first book in this series was original and new to me but I at first wasn’t all taken in by it, this one however proved to completely expand on the originality and good aspects of the first book and carry on the adventure with much excitement. I have said this many times before but I am definitely reading more by this author in the future.
Which book disappointed you the most?
Basically this whole trilogy was a disappointment to me really, but I won’t say I’m sorry I read them though because each book is food for the soul I guess 😛 But still this was quite an underwhelming and a failing to properly deliver series which I hope to review soon.
What was your favourite cover?
A lovely cover with an equally compelling story inside too! I’m still really hoping the author will write more in this series cause I cannot say enough times how much I’m in love with the world and magic she created here…
What was your favourite summer release?
I don’t think I’ve read any new releases this summer as I have to always concentrate on my current TBR and I am going to make it a goal next year to read older books on my TBR as lots of books tend to go out of print where I am these days I still want to make time for newer books too but as always my reading pile is always chockablock.
Which books did you plan on reading, but you never got around to?
These two immediately come to mind as I planned and planned to read them but always got side tracked by other books 😛 I have tried to make it a goal to read the Fall as soon as I can but right now I’m trying to get as many college library books finished as possible which so far seems to be a losing battle… BOOKS!…
Which books do you plan on reading in the fall/autumn?
Planned TBR’s never seem to work for me no matter how hard I try to stick to them but I’ll put down two I know I HAVE to read…
I know I’m supposed to be currently reading Clockwork Princess but I just have so many books on the go at the moment that I’ve had to put some on the sidelines as the moment. Even though I said this is a TBR I need to stick to, I know I can easily run out of time with these college library books and that would cause my TBR to change again. All I’ll say here is I’ll do my best to keep to the books I had planned 😉
Glad you did the tag. I’ve been interested in reading Kojiki too because I like the cover, but I’ve only seen lackluster reviews so far.
