Goodreads Monday is hosted by Lauren’s Page Turners. It is when we show off a book from our TBR that we’re looking forward to reading.
There’s always been something a bit off about Perry Palomino. Though she’s been dealing with a quarter-life crisis and post-college syndrome like any other twenty-something, she’s still not what you would call “ordinary.” For one thing, there’s her past which she likes to pretend never happened, and then there’s the fact that she sees ghosts.
Luckily for her, that all comes in handy when she stumbles across Dex Foray, an eccentric producer for an upcoming webcast on ghost hunters. Even though the show’s budget is non-existent and Dex himself is a maddening enigma, Perry is instantly drawn into a world that both threatens her life and seduces her with a sense of importance.
Her uncle’s haunted lighthouse provides the perfect catalyst and backdrop for a horrific mystery that unravels the threads of Perry’s fragile sanity and causes her to fall for a man, who, like the most dangerous of ghosts, may not be all that he seems.
So many times over the years I have wanted to read this series. I even once tried requesting these books from my library but they told me they couldn’t get them in for availability reasons I still don’t really understand now 😛 But when I first got my iPad for my 20th birthday I immediately downloaded the kindle app and from there I purchased all the books in the series and all the novellas too, and yes, you’ve guessed it, they have just been sitting on storage in my kindle since then lol. When will I read these books? I don’t know, but I do know I sure want to because so many good things have been said about these books and the characters even if the thing that draws me in most is the supernatural element to every book in this series. Even today, when I crave to know what happens here, I have no plans to read these books because when a book has been bought and owned there is no time limit on them and no deadlines to read it by so that is why books I have bought tend to be pushed behind as everyone knows my library TBR will always be endless! Eventually I will get to this series, I haven’t forgotten them, I swear 😉
