Book Blogger Hop: August 30th – September 5th

Book Blogger Hop is hosted at Coffee Addicted Writer

The purpose of the Hop is to learn about new books, make friends with other bloggers, follow other blogs discover new books and gain more followers for your own blog. The hop will start on a Friday and end on a Thursday and will feature a weekly prompt asking a bookish question.

This week’s question:

Have you ever enjoyed the same book in two or more formats (print, ebook or audiobook)?

First answer that comes to mind, no, I don’t think I have ever read the same book in different formats and the closest I can think of to come to this is when I read Memoirs of a Geisha by Arthur Golden. I originally started reading the book as an ebook loan from my library for my Japan trip earlier this year and had renewed it to the maximum times it can be renewed before it had to be returned and I planned to read and finish the book on my holiday but ran out of time. When I came home I found I had a lot of the book left to read and not enough time before it came to its due date, so I instead returned the ebook and ordered a paperback copy from my library instead and I finished off the paperback in my home starting from the chapter I’d last read to… So all in all I don’t know whether I preferred one format to the other as I am not too bothered most of the time which format I read, but I suppose if I was forced to choose I’d say I enjoyed Memoirs of a Geisha more as a paperback only because I’m more used books that way… Which is your favourite format? 🙂

  2. I am glad you were able to finish Memoirs of a Geisha. I read so many more e-books these days than print books, although I still enjoy those too. And the occasional audiobook. Sometimes it comes down to what is available and convenience. I hope you have a great weekend!
