WWW Wednesday (31/7/19)

WWW Wednesday is a bookish meme hosted by Sam @ Taking on a World of Words

It consists on answering these three questions:

  • What are you currently reading?
  • What did you recently finish reading?
  • What do you think you’ll read next?

Currently reading

Storm Siren (Storm Siren, #1)

Just about 100 pages into this now and while it has good characters and interesting magic, I’m at the moment finding there’s no wow factor here at the moment. I hope things will improve in terms of that but I know I must say at the moment that I should be grateful the book is interesting enough to hold my attention unlike many others 😛

Recently finished

The Trap (The Hunt, #3)

This was an interesting, action-packed finale to a totally different dystopian series! The ending and the end result was a little WTF though especially after all the world building established in book 2 so I’m guessing the author changed his mind when he came to write this book 😛 Anyone who has read this series will know what I mean and despite all that I would still like to recommend this series to both dystopia and vampire fans!

What I think I’ll read next

The Blight of Muirwood (Legends of Muirwood, #2)

I’m supposed to be reading this now but as it is a longer book than the first in the series I think I’ll save it until after I’ve finished Storm Siren. The first book in this series introduced an interesting world with strong characters which really had me looking forward to the next books and I love the research the author had done into the force that is the Medium and how he said it appears in many ancient religious texts in our world. Something I’d love to research at some point and I’m most looking forward to seeing how things turn out in this world 😉
