WWW Wednesday (24/7/19)

WWW Wednesday is a bookish meme hosted by Sam @ Taking on a World of Words

It consists on answering these three questions:

  • What are you currently reading?
  • What did you recently finish reading?
  • What do you think you’ll read next?

Currently reading

The Prey (The Hunt, #2)

Despite having read the first book in this series a long time ago, I fins with this one I can remember pretty much everything that went on before. So far I think I’m connecting with this book more than the first one and that’s because there seems to be a lot of mystery with this one about a lot of things and how I love these suspenseful plots that have mysteries intertwined with them! I hope this book keeps up the good pace and intrigue right till the end as I need to get this book finished as soon as because of the new ordered books I want to make way for. This series seems highly rated anyway…

Recently finished

Heaven's Net Is Wide (Tales of the Otori, #0)

I ended up loving this book a lot more in the start rather than in the end. It can be read as both the opening to the Otori series or the end and I read it as the former. This book reminded me a little of A Game of Thrones because a lot of the plot focused on politics, family alliances, treachery, war and there was minimal magic on the fantasy side of things. I will read more books by this author and a lot of people have been saying these books are great and all but for this one I must say I was a little disappointed but I will look out for more.

What I think I’ll read next

The Trap (The Hunt, #3)

This is only a guess at what I’ll read next as I have many books from the library at the moment and while I seem to be enjoying this series I know there are lots of other books I’ve had out from my library for longer. I will say I love the ideas behind these books and I do hope in time more explanation on how the world became the way it is will be offered because as most of you know, I do not understand the point of creating a fabulous world and not giving any backstory to it 😛 The action and suspense is still good though and I hope to get this series finished soon.
