Down the TBR Hole #41

Down the TBR Hole is a bookish tag created by Lost in a Story It is made to help us shorten our ever growing TBR piles!

Here’s how it works:

  • Go to your goodreads to-read shelf.
  • Order on ascending date added.
  • Take the first 5 (or 10 or 15 or 20, if you’re feeling adventurous) books
  • Read the synopses of the books
  • Decide: keep it or should it go?
  • Keep track of where you left off so you can pick up there next week!

Currently on my TBR: 1287 books

To be removed

Genesis (The Rosie Black Chronicles, #1)Meridian (Fenestra, #1)Wondrous Strange (Wondrous Strange, #1)Haven (War of the Princes, #1)Selina Penaluna

Basically there’s a lack of availability for all these books and if I’m being honest the only one I would still want to read now is Wondrous Strange but not all books in the series are available. Selina Penaluna was one I came across on my library catalogue a few years ago and I never got by to reading it I think because the cover girl is the same as that of Evermore by Alyson Noel and back then I wasn’t too interested in the bottom of the barrel books so to speak. The library no longer has this book and I don’t think I’m going to try looking for it elsewhere despite it being about mermaids which is a topic I’ve always had interest in. The other books here are also unavailable and quite frankly I feel I can find better books of a similar nature in books that are available and even though Genesis still does have a bit of appeal for me, I know now it is time to move on and find the dystopian books that are available because I’m not as passionate about this genre as I used to be. *shrug*

To be kept

Icons (Icons, #1)A Witch in Winter (Winter Trilogy, #1)My Soul to Take (Soul Screamers, #1)Sabriel (Abhorsen, #1)Sea of Shadows (Age of Legends, #1)

My library has every one of these books except for Icons which I know is readily available anyway. At the moment the one that appeals to me the most is Sea of Shadows for some reason because of its description and of course because I have loved this authors work before in the past. Sabriel has always intrigued me and I don’t know why I haven’t picked it up yet despite seeing it everywhere online and in my libraries. Rachel Vincent’s books have also always sounded of interest especially the Soul Screamers series which I know my library has every book of. I wasn’t sure about keeping a Witch in Winter but it is always really persuading when my library has every copy of the series in so this will be a series I will get into one day even though some reviewers have said it is a bit like Twilight 😛 All in all it is so good to be rediscovering all these books on my TBR and weeding out the ones I no longer have a desire for… That’s all from me for today, have you read any of these books? 🙂

see you goodbye GIF
