T5W: Books at the top of my TBR

Top 5 Wednesday is a weekly meme created by gingerreadslainey and now it is hosted by Thoughts on Tomes .  If you are interested in taking part in T5W visit the Goodreads group.

Another week gone by and still I am awfully behind on reading, so it looks like I might not be able to achieve my new years resolution of finishing off previously started series 😛 Still I have a pile of books at home from both college and public libraries that doesn’t look like it’s getting any smaller and as always I will forever have the desire to order yet more books 😂😂😂 There are a few books that I have that need reading more than the others because of the amount of times I’ve renewed them and no one from either the college or public library can give me a clear answer on how many times one is allowed to renew a book online. I guess by the way I’m going I’ll find out pretty soon… Anyway here are the books that are high on my TBR for this time 🙂

After the End by Amy Plum

After the End (After the End, #1)

This is the one I think I’ll read next after I finish Crimson Bound and I know there are very probably others wanting this, but I totally promise to have it back at the library soon!

Priestess of the White by Trudi Canavan

Priestess of the White (Age of the Five, #1)

I read Thief’s Magic by this same author a few years ago and really struggled to get through it. I decided to order this one from my college library because it was simply there and my college library doesn’t have a massive stock of fantasy books. i tell myself before I start that I’m not afraid to DNF if things go too bad and hopefully they won’t 😉

Deadly Hemlock by Kathleen Peacock

Hemlock (Hemlock, #1)

On reading the description of this I feel it is time I came back to the werewolf genre even though this is a book a lot of my GR friends aren’t too keen on. I will look for more werewolf books my library might have and I need to get this finished soon cause of that usual renew count…

Idlewild by Nick Sagan

Idlewild (Idlewild, #1)

A Sci-Fi with what other reviewers say, similarities to the Matrix which was a film I devoured when I was younger. I will read this soon I totally promise I will!

Hild by Nicola Griffith

Hild

What drew me in with this book when I first saw it in my library was the ancient setting, the promise of strong characters and the hints of possible fantasy elements. I know I intended to read this last year and looking back I’m not sure what exactly got in the way 😛 I don’t think I’ll get to it this month but I will try to get it finished ASAP.

Gah all these books and no time! I have been stressed recently with exams and my main tutor not being in but still I know that isn’t an excuse for my favourite hobby 😛 Which books are on your immediate TBR? 🙂

  1. I haven’t heard of any of the books but I will look into them now 🙂
Oh except Priestess of the white. I read that 8ish years ago and I remember reading it in one session and really loving it … would be curious to see if I would still enjoy it this much now ^^
