My life/ books I’ve finished

A more positive week this time and I’m so thankful, only one of my support workers was able to make it to me this week and that was the younger one who is does cooking and library volunteering with me. We still haven’t heard any more about what’s going on with this library volunteering my we haven’t had the time to scan the course details and email them to the head librarian yet 😛 I know the sooner the better but everyone myself included, has been quite busy with a lot on our minds.

In the past week I and all most of my classmates have been studying for the Advanced ECDL (computing with Microsoft packages 2016) diagnostic test which is basically a mock test to test our skills before we go into the real exam. We’ve all been trying our hardest but it has stressed us out on more occasions than we can count and I even tried to pull out of it this week by speaking to my personal tutor. My tutor told me that I have to do the advanced ECDL as it’s a part of my course but I told her there was no way I was paying any money to resit the exam if I failed (they’ve become tighter on exam resits this year) and she said if they saw I did terribly on the diagnostic then they wouldn’t put me in for the exam. I will still aim to do my utmost best in all my studies despite finding it difficult to concentrate on the revision and despite all this, this week has been much more positive in terms of general happiness and getting through the days.

Today I have only just managed to finish Deep Water by Pamela Freeman and while it was a very good immersive book, I’m still surprised by how long (over 2 weeks 😮 ) it took me to finish but I have had a lot on my mind I guess. This might be a bad decision but recently I’ve decided to reread the Throne of Glass books as the last one in the series has come out recently and I hardly remember anything about the previous books. Everyone has been raving about these books and I remember not being that impressed myself the first time around yet still compelled enough to read on in the series. I’ve decided I’ll read the books from first to finish as soon as I’ve got my current mountain of a TBR down a bit…

Books I’ve recently added to my TBR

Throne of the Crescent Moon (The Crescent Moon Kingdoms, #1)Loved (House of Night Other World #1)Dragon in Chains (Moshui, #1)

Throne of the Crescent Moon by Saladin Ahmed

I’m not sure whether my library can get this in but it does sound intriguing with its Arabian setting and a description of a very busy plot. I’d love to get this for myself one day but as you know, mum is against me buying any more books 😒

Loved by P.C. and Kristin Cast

Many people were groaning when they saw another series coming set in the House of Night world. I on the other hand was quite pleased! Despite not liking the characters very much this is a world and magic system I’ve come to really enjoy and look forward to getting back into so library you need to get this in!

Dragon in Chains by Daniel Fox

As always I was more than excited to see another book series that is based on a culture. Unfortunately though my library hasn’t got these books and they’re SOO expensive to buy even on kindle :/ I keep hoping for the price to go down but I get the feeling that’s not something I can count on. Maybe I ought to try the library and see whether they can get this series in or not.

Have you gotten up to anything interesting this past week? Hope you have a good weekend! 🙂
