Down the TBR Hole #27

Down the TBR Hole is a bookish tag created by Lost in a Story It is made to help us shorten our ever growing TBR piles!

Here’s how it works:

  • Go to your goodreads to-read shelf.
  • Order on ascending date added.
  • Take the first 5 (or 10 or 15 or 20, if you’re feeling adventurous) books
  • Read the synopses of the books
  • Decide: keep it or should it go?
  • Keep track of where you left off so you can pick up there next week!

Currently on my TBR: 1117 books

To be removed

Nearly Gone (Nearly Gone, #1)The Worst Thing About my SisterThe Medium (Emily Chambers Spirit Medium Trilogy #1)Gifts of the Blood (The Angel's Edge, #1)Death Whispers (Death, #1)Bitter Frost (Frost, #1)Flecks of GoldWicked Woods (Wicked Woods, #1)Circus Summer (Circus of Curiosities, #1)Prophecy (Ghost Wars Saga, #1)

I know I’ve said before in other Down the TBR posts, but a lot of the books here I can’t believe I was once interested in them. Jacqueline Wilson’s books used to be favourites of mine when I was younger, but now I think I look for darker books than what she writes and I’m more of a fantasy reader now rather than reading about real life problems. The rest are too hard to obtain where I am and they just make me think I was SO careless in adding books when I was younger because back then I didn’t seem to understand availability I just thought my library could simply get in every book no matter what. Attempts like those have shown me the library can only get in books that are widely available on Amazon so now I must be more careful what I add to my tbr 😛

To be kept

Carrier of the Mark (Carrier, #1)

A lot of people have described this book as basically another version of Twilight and they said there is a lot of romance involved in the plot. I’m drawn to the Irish setting and mythology which should be a big part of the story but on reading the reviews from my friends they have called it boring and lacking proper character development. Most have said they couldn’t get into it and the Twilight comparisons are everywhere. Ireland is somewhere I would love to visit one day since it’s been so long since I last went and lots have said good things about there. My family is thinking of taking a trip there one day so if that ever happens I know at least one book that will be on my TBR. Hope it’s not TOO boring at most…

hope please GIF
