WWW Wednesday (24/10/18)

WWW Wednesday is a bookish meme hosted by Sam @ Taking on a World of Words

It consists on answering these three questions:

  • What are you currently reading?
  • What did you recently finish reading?
  • What do you think you’ll read next?

Currently reading

Sword and Serpent

I’ve been putting this book on the side-burner in the past days but do hope to have it finished as soon as possible. The story is decent and I like the historical and fantastical elements here and the writing is easy to understand. I’m approaching the halfway mark and other reviewers have thought highly of this authors work but I desperately need to finish this book because I need to obviously send more books back to the library 😛 Still hope this picks up though as there is a lot of potential and I look forward to seeing where the author will take things here.

Recently finished

The Bone Queen (The Books of Pellinor, #0.5)

This series is the best and this book was a great prequel addition! While I’ve got to agree with other reviewers in saying this book wasn’t as brilliant as the original series, it was still pretty damn awesome in its writing and interesting characterisations. I know I’ve said this before, but I really don’t want this series to end, I’ve really enjoyed reading these books and really wish the author would write more in this world or at least more books of this sort. These books had to have some of the most interesting, detailed world building I’ve ever come across so there really needs to be more books like this out there! 😛

What I think I’ll read next

Soul of the Fire (Sword of Truth, #5)

I think I’m still going to go for this one because the half term holidays are coming up so I’ll have more time to get through thick books like these. It has taken me a long time in the past to get through books of this size but I know they’re always worth it in the end. I’ll also say I don’t know why there are so many haters for this series and author, sure there are some things that aren’t that well done like the constant themes of rape  but everything else I find really well realised with the author adding just the right amount of detail to everything. I’ll try to get through this as soon as possible even though I know this is not one that can be rushed 😛 😉

What’s on your TBR for this week? 🙂
