Down the TBR Hole #24

Down the TBR Hole is a bookish tag created by Lost in a Story It is made to help us shorten our ever growing TBR piles!

Here’s how it works:

  • Go to your goodreads to-read shelf.
  • Order on ascending date added.
  • Take the first 5 (or 10 or 15 or 20, if you’re feeling adventurous) books
  • Read the synopses of the books
  • Decide: keep it or should it go?
  • Keep track of where you left off so you can pick up there next week!

Currently on my TBR: 1114 books

To be removed

Perdition (Dred Chronicles, #1)The Edge of DarknessEthereal Fury (Gemini Rising, #1)Elegantly Undead (Coffin Girls, #1)Veil of the UnknownStonewords: A Ghost StoryThe Hunt for the SeventhChristina's Ghost

On looking back at my early GR TBR I can only say I must have been really obsessed with ghost stories and any kind of dystopia. All these books might be good if given a chance, but now, even though I do enjoy a ghost story from time to time (and the ones I’ve read have been quite bad), I definitely don’t jump at every one I come across, research into availability needs to be done before getting excited over any one book! The rest of these books I remember had been either recommended to me or the authors had friended me and that only made me naturally curious about their books. I haven’t looked for all of them, but I don’t think any of these books are available to buy where I am, my library and kindle TBR is too full and overwhelming anyway… 😛

To be kept

Gameboard of the Gods (Age of X, #1)

This is a book I was excited about since I first saw it when it came out and was even more excited when I saw my library had it and still has. However, I see that book three doesn’t look like it is going to be published anytime soon sue to “low sales” but the author said she might self publish it but things still look uncertain. I don’t know if I’m making the right choice in keeping this one but this world sounds so so up my street… I don’t know, I might change my mind one day but for now I still want to read this.

What do you think I should do with Gameboard of the Gods, is it worth reading or a hopeless case? 😛 😉

  1. I LOVE RICHELLE MEAD! That is one series I never read by her, but I did get an ARC of the sequel to The Gameboard of the Gods, but I never read it. I wanted to read the first one first. Unfortunately I haven’t been able to find a copy. The other Richelle Mead title I have had a hard time finding is Soundless. I never want to take titles OFF of my tbr, but I know I have a bunch that I should probably sort through as well…

    • I know I need to reread her Vampire Academy books as I have heard SO many great things about them but can’t remember the plot of the first book 😛 Anyway, if you do get around to reading this series tell me what you think 🙂 At the moment I still want to read all books this author has written but first I’ll start with rereading the Vampire Academy books. Happy reading!

      • I read the whole VA series in 3 days and I have read her Bloodlines series, which I actually like more. I read the first two of her Glittering Court series, but haven’t read the third title in the series yet. Love Richelle Mead
